As the Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the bank’s enterprise-wide risk framework. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, financial stability, and operational resilience while aligning risk strategies with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and execution of the bank’s risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
- Lead risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring across all departments.
- Ensure full compliance with SAMA and international regulatory standards.
- Advise executive leadership and the Board of Directors on emerging risks and strategic recommendations.
- Supervise the Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, and Market Risk teams.
- Review and assess risk exposure in areas including credit, market, operational, liquidity, cyber, and reputational risks.
- Drive the implementation of risk analytics, tools, and reporting mechanisms.
- Foster a risk-aware culture throughout the organization through training and policy advocacy.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and regulators.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s or relevant certification such as FRM or PRM is highly preferred).
- 12+ years of experience in risk management within the banking or financial services sector, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Deep understanding of local and international banking regulations, including Basel III and SAMA guidelines.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement experience at board and executive level.
