Job Summary

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Mercer. This role will be based in Amman or Cairo. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

 

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice on a diverse range of corporate and commercial matters to support Marsh and Mercer businesses in the Middle East.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Stay abreast of new laws and regulations, analyzing their implications for the company and advising on necessary adjustments.
  • Identify potential legal risks and develop innovative strategies to manage and mitigate them effectively.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and engage in negotiations with external parties, escalating unresolved issues as necessary.
  • Offer practical guidance to colleagues, balancing legal considerations with business needs, and clarifying contract terms and legal issues.
  • Assist in preparing responses to RFP proposals for potential clients, ensuring compliance and competitiveness.
  • Proactively manage workflow to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

     

What you need to have: 

 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Proven proficiency in reviewing and negotiating contracts, with a strong understanding of contractual risk.
  • Some exposure to dispute resolution and negotiations, demonstrating a practical approach to legal challenges.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic.
