We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-driven Electrical Low Current Design Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering fully coordinated low current/ELV systems (such as fire alarm, CCTV, access control, BMS, public address, etc.) across a variety of building projects. This role requires close collaboration with architects, engineers, and BIM professionals to ensure seamless integration with overall project designs and adherence to applicable codes and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:
- Develop detailed design drawings, schematics, and BIM models for low current systems using Revit and other design tools.
- Coordinate electrical low current designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and infrastructure disciplines to ensure integrated solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with international and local standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, BS/EN) and client requirements.
- Perform clash detection and interdisciplinary model coordination to resolve design conflicts.
- Support in preparing BOQs, technical specifications, and documentation packages for tender and construction phases.
- Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and project discussions to ensure design intent is communicated and delivered effectively.
- Contribute to the implementation of BIM best practices and digital design workflows within the department.
- Stay updated on low current systems, codes, technologies, and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in low-current systems design.
- Hands-on experience with Revit and BIM-based design processes.
- Experience working with multinational design consultants on large-scale or complex building projects.
- Strong understanding of ELV/low current systems, including functional design, device layout, and system integration.
- Knowledge of local and international electrical and ELV codes and standards.
- Excellent collaboration, coordination, and technical communication skills.
- Proficiency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
