Job Summary

A Food Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that food manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position is vital in maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, while also ensuring that production goals are met. As a supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of food production staff, ensuring compliance with health regulations and company standards. Your role will involve coordinating activities in different stages of food preparation, from ingredient selection to the final product. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and mentoring team members, troubleshooting production issues, and working with other departments to enhance productivity and reduce waste. The ideal candidate will be someone with strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety standards.


 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the food production department to ensure efficiency.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure adherence to company standards and regulations.
  • Ensure all production staff adhere to health and safety protocol at all times.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department for timely supply of raw materials needed.
  • Train and mentor new and existing staff on production best practices.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer orders timely.
  • Collaborate with quality control to address any quality issues that arise.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of production and operations metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and optimize efficiency in processes.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and functions properly at all times.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting requirements for production operations.
  • Implement continuous improvement principles to enhance production processes.


 

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a food production or manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address production and staff issues.
  • Familiarity with production planning and inventory management software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
