An opportunity has arisen for a Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our business in the UAE.
The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include:
- Participating in a variety of geo-environmental projects
- Assisting with ground investigations and desk studies.
- Soil logging to current set standards, including laboratory scheduling.
- Writing factual and interpretative reports.
- Geotechnical reporting requirements beneficial.
- Processing site investigation data.
- Travel to other offices and sites within the region (as needed).
- Timely data management, processing and reporting.
- Oversee monitoring equipment hiring/off-hiring, maintenance, servicing and repairs.
- Adhere to all RSK company policies and adhere to client policies and procedures when on site.
Person specification:
- Hold a 2:1 or 1st class honours degree in geology, hydrogeology, geography, geosciences, environmental or environmental earth science. MSc desirable but not essential.
- Ideally working towards chartered status with a relevant institution.
- At least 2-5 years specific relevant experience.
- An understanding of geology, ground investigation works, contaminated land, geotechnical investigation.
- Able to complete factual and interpretative assessments.
- Able to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
- Track record in managing time and resources effectively and within budget.
- Clear communicator and a team player.
- Happy to be challenged by demanding site work.
- Ability to follow instructions, work part of a multi-disciplinary team and work solo, using own initiative.
- Commitment to safety and improving ways of working.
- Self-motivated, solutions focused, organised with effective time management.
- Familiar with (leading to competent) use of data management tools and reporting software.
