Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for compiling, consolidating, and analyzing financial data to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This role involves managing general ledger activities, preparing journal entries, overseeing fixed assets and inventory accounting, and producing financial statements. The accountant ensures compliance with GAAP and internal policies, providing financial oversight to maintain complete and accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Perform general and cost accounting tasks with a strong understanding of financial principles.
  • Apply standard accounting techniques to classify and record financial transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, trial balances, and journal entries.
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity in all financial reports and data presentations.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with detailed MIS reports.

Analysis & Advisory

  • Analyze operational trends, costs, revenues, and financial obligations to forecast future performance.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions.
  • Maintain real-time financial dashboards and visual reports for management.

Systems & Compliance

  • Establish and maintain accurate chart of accounts and ensure proper account coding.
  • Develop and implement accounting systems using modern ERP tools, with a focus on SAP.
  • Conduct internal audits across accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and correct discrepancies through journal entries.

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Conduct inventory audits and appraisals of property and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of asset descriptions, values, and locations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or equivalent is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 9 years total accounting experience.
  • At least 3 years in a similar role.
  • 2 years of experience in the GCC region is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial markets, and banking operations.
  • Proficient in financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Advanced skills in ERP systems, with SAP expertise being mandatory.
  • Skilled in modern accounting software and tools.
