Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

  • Reviews and evaluates technical documentation, engineering studies, and O&M documentation for plant mechanical systems (e.g. ventilation, firefighting, compressed air, and chemical systems).
  • Ensures reliable design, integration, and operation of all mechanical components across Nuclear Island, Turbine Island, and Balance of Plant.
  • Responsible for the engineering integrity, structural analysis, and design of lifting and hoisting equipment and systems, ensuring safe and compliant load handling throughout the plant lifecycle.
  • Reviews support structures and hoisting plans.
  • Reviews Structural Analysis, Piping Stress Analysis, and Finite Element Analysis related to mechanical and lifting systems.
  • Ensures all modifications and technical changes comply with the EPC contract obligations, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Monitors on-site construction and installation of mechanical and lifting systems, identifies non-conformities, and provides feedback to ensure compliance with design documentation.
  • Develops training materials and delivers training sessions specific to the design, operation, and engineering of mechanical systems and lifting equipment.
  • Provides technical input and coordination support to project stakeholders.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree beneficial) in mechanical engineering, specializing in Power Generation and Energy.
  • Strong technical skills; 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering on large scale projects or in nuclear power plant development. Nuclear power industry related experience is required. 
  • Knowledge of structure and system loading principles and calculations, specializing in requirements for deterministic and finite element analysis requirements.
  • Knowledge of requirements for monitoring and testing of systems and components under load and used for lifting and hoisting, including In Service Inspection and Testing principles.
  • Familiar with design, manufacturing, testing and operational codes and standards for lifting equipment, systems under pressure, and support equipment. 
  • 2D and 3D CAD, CAM, Loading Calculations, Stress Analysis, Finite Element programs software experience is beneficial.
