The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for leading the structural and foundation design of various projects, performing advanced technical analysis, and resolving complex engineering challenges. This role also supervises the preparation and coordination of structural drawings in alignment with architectural and MEP disciplines. The engineer ensures all designs meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Technical Analysis
- Develop and oversee structural engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry codes and project requirements.
- Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations to determine load capacities, material specifications, and safety factors.
- Optimize structural designs for cost-efficiency, safety, and constructability.
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Project Oversight & Coordination
- Lead the review and integration of structural designs with architectural and MEP plans.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafting teams.
- Conduct site inspections to verify design implementation and resolve construction-related issues.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of structural elements into overall project plans.
Innovation & Risk Management
- Develop innovative structural solutions using modern technologies and materials.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with structural design and construction.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
- Advanced expertise in structural engineering principles and systems (steel, concrete, timber).
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
- Strong understanding of building codes, seismic and wind load design, and geotechnical considerations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional coordination.
- Leadership capabilities to manage teams and oversee project delivery.
- ERP proficiency, preferably SAP functional skills, is required.
