The Technical Office Engineer (MEP) is responsible for the preparation, coordination, and follow-up of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering activities on construction projects. This role involves handling technical documentation, drawings, quantity take-offs, material submittals, and coordinating with various departments to ensure the successful execution of MEP works in compliance with project specifications, standards, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and design documents.
- Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings in coordination with design consultants and project teams.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for MEP systems.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of technical submittals and material approvals.
- Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor and update the progress of MEP activities in coordination with planning and execution teams.
- Resolve technical issues and liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers as needed.
- Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with drawings, standards, and safety protocols.
- Support value engineering activities and recommend technical solutions to optimize cost and performance.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing for drawings, submittals, correspondence, and records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry (experience in MEP works is essential).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office (experience with Navisworks, BIM is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of local and international MEP codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, etc.).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
